A tonne of donations for our local charity, Isabel Hospice!

In May 2022, Chapman Ventilation joined the sustainability initiative “Tonnes of Care” led by our local charity, Isabel Hospice.

The initiative involves the charity receiving donations of unwanted goods and selling them in their charity shops. The money raised from donations sold in store pays for crucial nursing hours to provide care for those who are terminally ill and supports people experiencing bereavement.

Donations to this important scheme also lessens the environmental impact as it is preventing items from going to landfill.

We recently held a “Donation Week” at our offices to continue our support for “Tonnes of Care” and turned a meeting room into a donation point. The room was quickly filled as our generous members of staff brought in huge amounts of their preloved and unwanted items over the course of the week.

Once our donations were collected, we were thrilled to learn that all of the items donated during this event amounted to 408KG in weight! Meaning, we have donated a fantastic 1.04 tonnes of items in weight to the “Tonnes of Care” initiative since joining a year ago!

This event shows the true kindness of our team and the ongoing commitment and support that we want to offer to our local charity, which is vital and much loved to the people in Welwyn Garden City.
