Big Mamma, the French-owned Italian restaurant group, is to open its second U.K restaurant this year called Circolo Popolare. The 9,000 sq. ft. restaurant will make its debut at Rathbone Square in Fitzrovia.
The restaurant is scheduled to open this July and will accommodate 280-covers inside and an additional 60-cover outside. It is the second London site from the group, with their first opening in Shoreditch earlier this year. Circolo Popolare is inspired by cuisine from the Sicilian coast. The menu contains small plates, sharing platters and pizza.
The restaurant group, which was founded in 2013 in Paris by Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, currently operates several sites in France including East Mamma, Pizzeria Popolare and La Felicita, the last of which is claimed to be the biggest restaurant in Europe.
