Events in Dubai are known for being among the biggest and best in the world, providing all the glitz and glamour we’ve come to expect from the city. We were excited to work with the Grand Hyatt to deliver a ventilation solution for their Baniyas Ballroom. The Grand Hyatt Dubai is a luxury resort situated in the historic creek area of the city. The hotel has over 600 rooms and numerous restaurants, as well as events spaces such as the opulent Baniyas Ballroom. This incredible location offers entertaining space for up to 2500 guests in an expansive 3,212 square metre ballroom. The space can also be split into three soundproof sections to allow for smaller events.

Show Kitchen
Such a large space demands specific ventilation requirements. The Baniyas Ballroom features a dramatic restaurant-style Show Kitchen for guests to enjoy. The glass-cased kitchen comprises 22 live cooking stations across a 612 square metre space. With a huge variety of cuisines on offer, from local Middle Eastern specialities to International dishes, it was incredibly important that all cooking odours be removed effectively. This helps to provide a cool and clean customer environment, allowing guests to enjoy the theatre of the Show Kitchen without any accompanying heat and smoke.
Tight Deadlines
We installed a ventilated ceiling to cope with the demands of the space, the first project of this type Chapman Ventilation have supplied in the Middle East. We worked with Emirates Kitchen Equipment on the installation, meeting tight deadlines to deliver the result on time. There was a wedding for over 2,000 guests taking place the day of commissioning, so time sensitivity was absolutely crucial. This project allowed us to demonstrate our capabilities in the Hotel sector, and we look forward to working on more events spaces in the future.
