Mountain

Sector: Spanish
Details: Stylish restaurant featuring open cooking and wine bar
Location: Soho, London

Mountain is the latest venture from Super 8 Restaurants and chef Tomos Parry. The successful team are also behind the Michelin-starred Brat, in Shoreditch, and Brat x Climpson’s Arch, in Hackney. All of the restaurants have developed a huge following with tables in high demand.

Welsh born chef Tomos Parry spent time travelling around Spain, which provided the inspiration for the menu and name of the restaurant.

Previously a Byron restaurant, Mountain now commands attention in a corner spot in buzzing Beak Street, Soho. Open for lunch and dinner, the open fire kitchen enables diners to watch the chefs cook a mixture of Spanish dishes that contain a Welsh twist.

"This was a complex yet exciting project to work on. Our hard work paid off and the wood ovens and charcoal cooking work effectively and fit in well with the design of the restaurant. A huge thank you to the Head Office and site teams as this was a real team effort."

Soho, London

Soho is in the West End of Central London. A hive of activity, Soho is famed for entertainment as it is part of London’s theatre district, with live productions available day and night.

The area also contains excellent bars and restaurants and is great for shopping as Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street are all within walking distance.

There is plenty to do in this atmospheric and bustling part of London.

Climbing the extra mile!

Mountain is a unique restaurant, full of style, and Chapman Ventilation love this type of project.

One of the main features of the restaurant is experiential dining. Customers can watch their food being prepared and cooked in the open kitchen on either the charcoal pit or the wood pizza ovens. The show cooking means that the HVAC equipment is exposed for all to see. Therefore, we ensured that the equipment and lighting services worked efficiently as well as looked aesthetically pleasing and blended in nicely with the surroundings to suit the design of the restaurant.

The health and safety of our staff and the stakeholders we work with is of utmost importance to us. With the roof of the building being 5 storeys high and the restaurant located in a very busy pedestrian area, we took extra precautions to ensure all equipment got safely onto site. We also installed HVAC control systems that are more complex than usual to ensure the correct monitoring and activation of the open cooking.

Thank you to all of our staff who worked on this project. It was a real team effort from everyone in the office, factory and on site collaborating together to ensure this project was delivered on time and to a high standard.
