Chapman Ventilation have enjoyed a longstanding sponsorship and friendship with Mark Allison, also known as “Run Geordie Run”, a volunteer fundraiser for charities in the North East of England.
In memory of his parents and brother, Mark began fundraising and since 2007 he has ran five major events around the world and covered a staggering 10,000 miles. This has resulted in Mark raising an amazing £350,000 for the charities very close to his heart which include Useful Vision, The Children’s Foundation, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and St Benedict’s Hospice.
In 2018, Mark ran 1,000 miles from Belgrade to Kiv and we provided him with “Chappie” (see picture below). “Chappie” is a support unit on wheels that Mark pulled along whilst running during the day, and slept in at night.
Today, is a very special day for Mark for two reasons; he celebrates 30 years of fundraising for St Benedict’s Hospice and has announced his next major run “Across the USA – 2025”.
“Across the USA – 2025” will see Mark run 3,100 miles from the east coast starting at Coney Island, New York to the west coast finishing at Huntington Beach, California in the United States of America. The plan is for Mark to complete this event in 100 days, which means he will need to run an average of 31 miles each day.
Mark is hoping that all of his dedication and hard work running across America will enable him to raise a further £60,000 for St Benedict’s Hospice.
Mark said “I appreciate the continued support from Chapman Ventilation for what is now the 12th year! All of their help over the years has been fantastic.”
From all of us at Chapman Ventilation, we wish Mark the best of luck as he begins training for his next epic challenge.
