We understand the importance of mental wellbeing and provide support to our team throughout the year. However, World Mental Health Day provides the opportunity to really put the spotlight on this crucial topic and ensure that everyone is aware that it really does matter.
Physical activity can really benefit mental health. It can improve your mood, reduce stress and help with depression and anxiety. In addition, it can also protect against dementia and a decline in cognitive functions. Taking time out each day to perform some kind of physical activity, even if it is just for 15 minutes, can make all the difference.
To celebrate World Mental Health Day and encourage our staff to look after their mental well being we have partnered with our local sports centre, Gosling Sports Park. They are operated by GLL, a charitable social enterprise and their purpose is to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of local communities; the perfect criteria for us to work with.
Gosling Sports Park are providing all of our employees with a free day pass to access their fantastic facilities which include the gym, fitness classes and spa. They cater for everyone and there really is something for everyone to enjoy!
We are very grateful for the support from GLL which has enabled this initiative for our team. We hope that our staff enjoy their time at Gosling Sports Park and recognise that exercise is beneficial to mental wellbeing as well as physical wellbeing.
